Being consistent isn't just about sticking to a schedule. That's why so many creators burn out quickly, especially on social media. They follow routines because others say it's the way to succeed, but they don't stop to ask if it actually works for them. Tim Ferris said, "Find one decision that removes 100 decisions." For example, I tell myself to post at least one tweet a day, write a short essay a week, and send a newsletter on Friday. I don't do all of this perfectly, but it's what works for me right now while balancing health challenges and parenthood. When you think about consistency, ask yourself: What can you handle every day? Try it out and see what fits your life. Don't compare yourself to people who are further along in their careers and have teams to help them. Everyone's on their own path. Be consistent in your own way. Instead of posting because you feel you have to, use the "So What?" test from Austin Kleon's Show Your Work. Before sharing something, ask yourself: Is this useful or interesting? If you're not sure, save it for later. If you think it is, go ahead and post it. But if it's neither, don't share it. This helps you avoid posting just for the sake of it and makes sure your content is thoughtful and worth sharing.
