Ernest Hemingway believed in the value of writing by hand. It makes you feel close to your work. Handwriting is underrated these days. Sure, typing is fast, but writing with a pen and paper feels different. I've found that when I write by hand, I pay more attention to my choice of words and my grammar is better. It also feels more calming, probably because it's more personal than looking at a screen. Writing by hand is my go-to method for sorting out complex thoughts. It's easier because I can draw lines, sketch diagrams, or quickly box in ideas without any restrictions of software. This reminds me of when I used to design logos for clients, where I always began sketching in a notebook to explore ideas more freely and quickly. As technology keeps advancing, writers need to mix digital tools with handwriting in their creative routine. Switching between digital with pen and paper gives you the best of both worlds.
